Frequently Asked Questions
When should I book you for my wedding?
Dates are reserved on a first come first serve basis and I typically book out 6-12 months in advance. If my books are not open yet for your date, I will put you on the waitlist for when they do and contact you immediately!
What if I don't have a set wedding date yet, can I still book you now?
I will need to know an exact date in order to make sure I am available for you but if you have an idea of a certain month you want to get married then reach out and I can let you know my availability that month!
How do I book you for my event?
Fill out the inquiry form linked to the rates & inquire page and look out for an email from me! If I am available for your date I will let you know and we can go over any details about the event! I require a signed contract & deposit in order to reserve your date. Email response time is 48-72 hours.
Do I really need a trial?
Trials are optional but highly recommended! It not only gives us a chance to get to know each other and for me to understand your hair type but it also allows you to see what the style looks like on yourself before the wedding day! It gives us uninterrupted time to really figure out what you want, what you like, what you don't like, we can try different accessories, etc.
When should I book my trial?
I personally like to do trials about 2 months before your wedding day, by then you have your dress, jewelry, accessories, and just have a better vision of the wedding day, but am totally open to doing it sooner! No need to worry about booking your trial, I do that for you! I will reach out to you 3-4 months before your wedding day to schedule your trial.
Do you travel to me on the day of the event?
Yup! I travel to you on the event day to get you and your party ready! Whether that be at the venue, hotel, or someone's home I have everything I need to get you ready wherever you want to be! Travel fees subject to apply.
How should I prep my hair for the trial/wedding day?
Your hair must be clean & dry hair. I always recommend to wash your hair the day before, blown out with volume. Use minimal styling products but if you have mousse, use it! If you have curly hair and want a smooth style please blow your hair out smooth, try to avoid using a flat iron. Remember I can always make your hair "dirty" with products but there is only so much dry shampoo will do for oily roots! All of this info is included in my hair prep guide that I send to all of my brides!
How long will it take to get ready on the wedding day?
I schedule 90 minutes for the bride and 45 minutes for attendants plus 30-45 minutes for setup & touch ups. If you have a party of the bride + 4 then it would take about 5 hours of getting ready. Keep this in mind when you are deciding on what time you need to be done hair/makeup (the earlier you need to be ready, the earlier the start time!)
Do you do makeup?
No, I only do hair but I've worked with amazing MUA's and have great recommendations! Let me know if you need help finding someone!
Once I book you how will the rest of the process go?
I will stay in contact with you throughout the entire wedding planning process! From the very beginning I will gather as much information about your wedding as I can and you will get an estimated timeline of the wedding day, if your wedding is far in advance I will check in with you a few months before your wedding to see if you need anything from me but you can feel free to reach out at any time if you have questions! 3-4 months before your wedding I will reach out to setup your trial, 1 month before your wedding I will go over all the wedding details, timeline, etc and make sure that no details have changed along with sending you a reminder for the final invoice, then the week of your wedding I will send you the timeline again in a format that can be saved right to your phone along with a hair prep guide to send to your wedding party!
What brand of extensions do you recommend?
I recommend clip-in extensions for most of my brides that are getting down styles or have fine hair, installation is included in your bridal package but you must supply the extensions. I also offer an option to rent extensions from LBB, information for rentals will be provided when booking your trial. (If you're unsure if you need extensions, ask me!)
Clip-in extensions are preferred so that I can customize the placement to work with your style. I highly recommend Zala, they even have a virtual assistant to help you color match!
For $20 off use code LISAZALA
If you decide Zala isn't your vibe and you find another brand that better fits your budget, I recommend purchasing two packs for cheaper extensions since the quality is typically thinner, and always make sure it is 100% human hair!
